About me

Mohamed Kassim Abdi is an Executive Chef based in Zanzibar, Tanzania. He possesses strong language skills in Swahili, English and Arabic. With an extensive hospitality career, Mohamed has worked his way up from ‘Demi Chef’ at Neptune Hotel in 2007 to his current position at Golden Tulip Airport Hotel. He has overseen multiple hotel kitchens, implementing new systems, changing menus, and controlling food costs. His responsibilities also included supervising staff, planning menus, budgeting, and maintaining hygiene standards. Mohamed holds certifications in food and hygiene, basic fire training, and food production from the Zanzibar Institute of Tourism Development and Nagoya Fire Protection Services Limited. His hobbies include reading, writing, painting, cooking, and sports. He is multi-lingual, adaptable and possesses excellent communication skills.
