About me

Mathayo is an experienced hospitality professional with extensive experience in stewarding and kitchen management. His educational journey includes earning certificates in primary and secondary education, hotel management, and tourism from institutions in Tanzania. He has gained practical experience in prominent resorts, such as Double Tree by Hilton Nungwi Zanzibar Resort, Dream of Zanzibar, Hideaway of Nungwi Resort and Spa, Park Hyatt Zanzibar, and Marijani Resort. His roles have seen a progression from steward roles to supervisory and managerial positions, with responsibilities that include overseeing stewarding operations, managing inventory, and ensuring high levels of hygiene and cleanliness. Mathayo is currently working at Zuri Zanzibar Resort as Chief Steward, and he has been recognized for his adaptability, teamwork, and dedication to maintaining high standards in the hospitality industry. Throughout his career, Mathayo has developed a reputation for his leadership skills and ability to manage teams effectively, contributing to the operational efficiency of various pre-opening teams. He has a keen interest in furthering his career in hospitality management and is well-regarded by peers and supervisors, including individuals like Chief Kilumba, Modest, and Anton, who have witnessed his commitment to excellence in the field.
