Senior Accountant

We are seeking a skilled Senior Resort Accountant to join a leading resort in Zanzibar. This pivotal role involves overseeing key financial functions including reporting, budgeting, tax compliance, internal controls, and general ledger management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in line with IFRS standards.
• Ensure compliance with Zanzibar and Tanzanian tax regulations through statutory filings and audits.
• Develop, monitor, and control operating budgets, analyze variances and cost controls to optimize financial performance.
• Manage reconciliations and oversee hotel accounting software integrations, leveraging systems such as SunSystems, Opera, or Materials Control.
• Lead the financial closing process and provide leadership, guidance, and development support to junior finance staff.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Professional qualification such as CPA (T), ACCA, or equivalent.
• Solid knowledge of IFRS and Tanzanian tax laws.
• Experience with hotel accounting systems like SunSystems, Opera, or Materials Control.
